THINGS TO DO

Walks and places to visit:

Starting at Copy House Hideaway, there are great circular walks around Lothersdale, Elslack Moor or on the Pendle Bridleway. Malham Cove, Malham Tarn, Goredale Scar are also nearby and very scenic.

Bolton Abbey, Priory and the Strid. Take in the Dalesway up to Appletreewick with the Craven Arms Pub & Cruck Barn, then on to Burnsall and the River Wharfe, the home of the Red Lion Pub, maybe on to eat at The Fountain in Linton, a beautiful hamlet.

The market town of Grassington is nearby and well worth a visit, as well as Skipton or Clitheroe castle.

Great walks from Kettlewell over to Arncliffe, or further up the valley to Buckden or Hubberholme, with the historic George Pub. For the energetic, why not tackle one or more of the famous Three Peaks?

Or a trip to the spa town of Ilkley and the Cow and Calf Rocks, home to the famous Ilkley Moor Bhah’tat. There are many good shops, pubs and restaurants. Haworth also has a timeless cobbled high street with an abundance of quirky shops, the home of the Bronte sisters and the Parsonage.

The views from Pendle Hill are spectacular, with Blackpool Tower visible to the west, the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the east and Gisburn Forest to the north. The Trough of Bowland is also beautiful and a real must see. The Inn at Whitewell is owned by the Queen (Duchy of Lancaster) and the Hodder runs past as it meanders into the Ribble Valley.
